Brazil's Alta Mogiana region carries a storied legacy dating to 1797, when Portuguese governor Castro Mendonca gifted coffee seeds to the Prado family, establishing São Paulo's coffee heritage. The Mogiana Railroad, funded by twenty-one farming families in 1872, transformed the northwest region into a coffee powerhouse—by 1890, São Paulo produced half of Brazil's coffee, and at the industry's 1920s peak, the country supplied 80% of the world's supply. This natural-process coffee emerges from that same entrepreneurial tradition and fertile terroir that made Mogiana synonymous with quality and innovation. The natural fermentation process allows the fruit to remain intact during drying, developing the full-bodied sweetness and complex fruit-forward character that defines this origin's distinctive profile—a testament to centuries of cultivation expertise and the region's ideal growing conditions.
